A New Work

A few nights ago, my friend Charles Moore, Jr. and I took excerpts from H. P. Lovecraft, both poetry and prose, that I had collected and printed, and cut out the best bits. We then arranged them into an aesthetically pleasing sequence and thus the text is now set for a new work, a kind of Cthulhu Cantata if you will. The idea came to me in November to write another piece for singers but using the cosmic horror universe created by Lovecraft. I don't intend it to be a parody of a Bach cantata, more of an homage. The general form of an 18th century cantata will provide a fuzzy framework. As far as my internet searches show, no one has done this yet. I'm either the first one to do this or this is very stupid idea.
